My Business/Community Bio:

I am currently President & CEO of Mobidia, Inc. (www.mobidia.com). Mobidia has developed a unique, award-winning mobile software solution named .wave that provides mobile network operators and enterprise customers with powerful new bi-directional data traffic management solutions for their mobile data users. Mobidia’s .wave solution enhances mobile data by monitoring and managing per application, service, user, and network type using client software running on mobile handsets communicating with server software using Mobidia’s Dynamic Multi-media Protocol - a powerful and more efficient protocol that replaces the TCP/IP protocol.

I am also a board member of BC Advantage Funds (www.bcadvantagefunds.com) and a director of Shelby Ventures (www.shelby-ventures.com), a TSX venture listed CPC company. Finally, I am the founder (1996) and past CEO (1996-2001, 2003-2006), President (1996-2000, 2003-2004), and Chairman (2001-2002) of Intrinsyc Software International (www.intrinsyc.com) - a mobile software and services provider to handset OEMs, and serve as an advisor to the Company on an adhoc basis.

In the past I was a co-founder and CEO of Consequent Technologies, a co-founder and past President/EVP of PCS Wireless, Inc., a VP and Business Unit Manager of Nexus Engineering, and a Product Development Manager in Motorola's Wireless Data Division. I have also been involved with a number of other technology companies including ERNEX/CSI Credit Systems, Integra Systems, Canysco Industries, DBA Telecom, Cambian, Image Power, and Icron Technologies.

In the non-profit sector I have served as a board member and Vice Chair of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum (2001-2007), a board member and sponsorship Chair of AceTech (2001-2007), a member of the Toronto Stock Exchange Advisory Committee (2003-2006), a member of the BC Securities Commission NEAT committee (2002-2003), on the membership committee of the BC Chapter of YPO - Young Presidents Organization (2004-Present), and a board member and Program Chair for Softworld (2000-2001).

My wife and partner for the past 28 years, Cheryl Spratt, and I take a keen interest in supporting the non-profit sector. Together we have been involved withBCT Social Venture Partners, BC ScienceWorld, Vancouver School Board/Vancouver Schools Foundation's Scientist in Residence Program, and Ecojustice (Sierra Legal).
