My Business/Community Bio:

I am currently President & CEO of Mobidia, Inc. Mobidia has developed a unique, award-winning mobile software solution named .wave that provides mobile network operators with powerful new handset based data traffic management solutions for their mobile data users. Mobidia’s solution enhances mobile data by monitoring and managing per application, service, user, and network type using client software running on mobile handsets communicating with server software using Mobidia’s Dynamic Multi-media Protocol (DMP) - a powerful and more efficient protocol that transparently replaces the TCP/IP protocol over the air. In recent network trials with 3G European and Asian tier 1 operators, peak network capacity was improved an average of 42% and downloads were accelerated an average of 74% (106% for Youtube).

In the non-profit sector I am currently on the board of WinBC (Wireless Innovation Network of BC) and the board of advisors of the Vancouver School Board's Scientist in Residence Program as well as being on the membership committee of the BC Chapter of YPO - Young Presidents Organization. In the past I have served as a board member and Vice Chair of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum (2001-2007), a board member and sponsorship Chair of AceTech (2001-2007), a member of the Toronto Stock Exchange Advisory Committee (2003-2006), a member of the BC Securities Commission NEAT committee (2002-2003), and a board member and Program Chair for Softworld (2000-2001).

My wife and partner for the past 30 years, Cheryl Spratt, and I take a keen interest in supporting the non-profit sector. Together we have engaged with BCT Social Venture Partners, BC ScienceWorld, Vancouver School Foundation's Scientist in Residence Program, and Ecojustice (Sierra Legal).

In the past I was the founder, President & CEO, Chairman, and an advisor to Intrinsyc Software at various times from 1996 until 2008 - a mobile software and services provider to handset OEMs. I was a board member (2005-2008) of BC Advantage Funds and co-founder and CEO of Consequent Technologies (2002-2003), a co-founder and past President/EVP of PCS Wireless, Inc. (1993-1996), a VP and Business Unit Manager of Nexus Engineering (1991-1992), and a Product Development Manager in Motorola's Wireless Data Division (1989-1991). I have also been involved with a number of other technology companies including ERNEX/CSI Credit Systems, Integra Systems, Canysco Industries, DBA Telecom, Cambian, Image Power, and Icron Technologies.
