I also used an electronic calculator for many of my project calculations, the Texas Instruments SR-10 (a Christmas gift to our family from Santa in 1972 - the SR stood for 'slide rule' and it was only the second ever calculator model from TI, priced at $150 - a fortune then):

 

Later in high school I saved enough money to purchase my very own HP-25C (using the famous and efficient RPN - reverse polish notation, which I loved):
